Admissions: Due to family relocations, we have some spaces in some year groups, please contact us to arrange a visit.

Brightwalton is a welcoming village school, set in an idyllic location, where each child is seen as an individual. We are a small school which offers big opportunities!  If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

How to join us...

  • If you are looking for a Reception or Primary School place for your child please contact us if you would like to visit the school
  • We do recruit many children from beyond our catchment area as we are based in a small village.
  • People relocate, so places throughout the school do come up at all times of the year. It is always worth applying for a place.
  • We are convenient for working parents, located within easy access of Newbury, Wantage and beyond, and offering both a Breakfast Club and Tea Club.

As a Voluntary Aided church school, we are our own admissions authority but all admissions are managed through the West Berkshire admission teams.

Starting school for the first time?

Please complete the application form for reception places on the West Berkshire website by the stated date (usually in mid January) for admission in the following September. We have an open morning in the Autumn term for children starting in the following September. There will be a short talk from our headteacher, Mrs Janet Patterson, at 9:30am followed by a  tour of the school.
